We lose gratitude towards so many people that sacrifice things for us. We complain about so many things because we just forget all the things happening around us.
We are blinded to the good, because the little things stop mattering to us. The things unseen, are the things that are supporting our society
The things Unseen, are the people who have fought for what we have now, the “privilege” that we take for granted.
I stand here, due to the power, the work and the sacrifice made by the people in the past, the women and men who fought for my freedom and my chances.
“The vast majority of society only has contact with a person with very obvious special educational needs. As autism is a vast spectrum, even those who look and function seemingly “normally” may have special educational needs. In this talk, I would like to promote a more accurate description of what it means to have special educational needs, and share what those who work with them (who also often go unseen) want society to know and reflect on.”
What’s like to be “stateless” -invisible children-
With faster transportation and wider internet connectivity, globalization continues to connect more and more people together. At the same time, social media algorithms has led to the rise of echo chambers, drawing and compelling people to look towards that which they wish to see. In our day and age, it becomes too easy to turn away from the problems we’d like to leave unseen, and instead focus on the stress of our individual daily lives. How can we connect with the everyday people around us? To what extent is it possible for us to break out of our individual perspectives? And how can we create a society which can make everyone’s stories feel seen?
